Now there is a lot of talk about the dwarf planets of the solar system. Why were they named that, and when did this name appear?

Now there is a lot of talk about the dwarf planets of the solar system. Why were they named that, and when did this name appear? What do you know about them?

This new class of objects in the solar system was introduced on August 24, 2006 by a decision of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
Properties of dwarf planets:
1) Orbits the Sun
2) is not a satellite of the planet;
3) It has sufficient mass so that the force of gravity is greater than the resistance of the substance so that the body of the planet can have a shape close to spherical
4) It does not have a very large mass to be able to clear the vicinity of its orbit.The dwarf planets include Pluto (2300 km in diameter), Eris (2400 km), Haumea (1200 km), Makemake (1500 km), Ceres (about 950 km )
