| A solar eclipse occurs when a shadow from the moon illuminated by the sun falls on the surface of the earth. In those places on the earth’s surface, which during a solar eclipse do not receive the light of the Sun at all, a total solar eclipse is observed, and in those places where the light of the Sun falls partially, a partial solar eclipse is observed.
