The animals are characterized by heterotrophic nutrition.
Heterotrophic nutrition is a method of nutrition in which ready-made organic substances are absorbed from the environment in the form of food.
Different animals use different sources of organic matter, thus it can be distinguished:
1. herbivores – use herbal products as food.
2. Predatory – use animal products for food.
3. Omnivores – they use both plant and animal products for food.
4. Parasites – use the resources of another living organism (host organism), thereby harming it.
Most animals are capable of active movement. Some of them are at certain stages of individual development.
