| What factor is decisive for the existence of high pressure in the atmosphere of Venus (90 at.): Atmospheric density, chemical composition, or temperature?
The solution follows from the analysis of the Mendeleev-Clapeyron equation:
p = pRT / M,
where p – pressure, p – gas density, T – temperature, M – molar mass, R – universal gas constant.
Based on the estimates of the temperature and molar mass of the atmospheres of Venus and the Earth, we conclude that the high density of atmospheric air is decisive.
