Semiconductor materials – substances with clearly expressed properties of semiconductors in a wide temperature range, including room temperature (~ 300 K), which are the basis for the creation of semiconductor devices. The electrical conductivity σ at 300 K is 10–4–10 ~ 10 Ω – 1 cm – 1 and increases with temperature. Semiconductor materials are characterized by a high sensitivity of electrophysical properties to external influences (heating, irradiation, deformation, etc.), as well as to the content of structural defects and impurities.
