| Chiron has signs of both a comet (the presence of a coma and a tail) and an asteroid (its size is much larger than the size of known comets). That is why it was named after the ancient Greek centaur Chiron (half-man-half horse). Its orbit is between the orbits of Jupiter and Nepmoon. Charon is a satellite of the dwarf planet Pluto, orbiting Pluto.
