The Aztecs used jewelry made from natural stones (obsidian, jade, turquoise), colored bird feathers, and also wore capes made of jaguar skins. Gold and silver jewelry could only be worn by priests and supreme rulers, copper – by ordinary people. In Peru, there were much the same customs, but they used fewer colored stones, but they wore more clothes made of colored woolen fabrics.
