| Life as a stable planetary phenomenon is possible only if it is diverse. Biological diversity of the biosphere includes the diversity of all species of living beings inhabiting the biosphere, the diversity of genes that form the gene pool of any population of each species, as well as the diversity of biosphere ecosystems in various natural zones. The amazing variety of life on Earth is not just the result of the adaptation of each species to specific environmental conditions, but also the most important mechanism for ensuring the stability of the biosphere.
