Why meiosis is the basis of combinational variability.

The cells formed as a result of meiosis differ in the set of chromosomes. Due to the randomness of chromosome discrepancies during anaphase 1, cells receive the most diverse combinations of parental chromosomes. Considering also the exchange of homologous chromosome regions in prophase 1, each formed cell is unique and unique in its set of genes.
